What is Prepaid and how do I recharge?
Prepaid is a great payment option if you want up front control over your spend, flexibility to change your plan and great value. With Prepaid, it’s up to you to choose how much you want to recharge and how often. There are no bills and you have complete cost control because you pay for your calls up front.
Recharge Options
If you run out of credit, there are a number of ways you can recharge:
1. Manual recharge via credit card
Credit Card Recharge is a fast and convenient way to recharge – you can recharge at any time, wherever you are.
To register, customers can visit www.vodafone.com.au then myvodafone, call 1555 free from their Vodafone mobile or select My Account from the Vodafone menu on your compatible mobile.
Then Recharge with your registered credit card by:
Selecting ‘My Account’ from the Vodafone menu on your compatible mobile, or
Calling 1511 (free call) from your mobile, or
Logging in or registering with My Vodafone and selecting ‘My Account’, or
If you own a Vodafone live! mobile, by hitting the Vodafone live! button and selecting ‘My Vodafone’.
You will be asked to confirm the last four digits of the credit card. Payment and recharge generally occurs in less than one minute. You will receive a recharge confirmation TXT.
Accepted credit cards
The following cards are accepted: Australian Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Please note: International Visa and MasterCard's (other than New Zealand) can not be registered by Prepaid customers. International Visa and MasterCard's already registered previously are fine.
2. Recharge vouchers
Purchase Vodafone recharge vouchers from one of thousands of participating outlets. Recharge using PayPal.

What do I keep when I change Prepaid Recharge Offer?
You can change Prepaid Recharge Offer whenever you recharge. The following table explains what you keep if you change from one Prepaid Recharge offer to another:
When changing from a Flexi Cap, TXT & Talk or 365 Day Recharge to any other Vodafone postpay plan nothing carries over and all remaining credits and other inclusions in your account balance will be forfeited, including any remaining days and/or credit from Vodafone live! content subscriptions, as applicable.
Provided you recharge within your expiry period, when changing between the TXT & Talk Recharges, you keep and accumulate a certain amount of unused included Flexible Credit, Vodafone to Vodafone Talk, Free Talk and/or Free TXT.
Provided you recharge within your expiry period, when changing between the TXT & Talk Recharge and the 365 Day Recharge, you keep and accumulate a certain amount of unused included Flexible Credit and Vodafone to Vodafone Talk. When changing to the 365 Days Recharge, Free Talk and/or Free TXT, as applicable, is forfeited.
Provided you recharge within your expiry period, when changing from the TXT & Talk or 365 Day Recharges to any of the Flexi Cap Recharges, you keep any unused included Flexible Credit, Free Talk, Vodafone to Vodafone Talk and/or Free TXT, as applicable, which must be used within 30 days or before the next recharge, after which time anything that was carried over will be forfeited.
When changing payment methods, you may be required to purchase a separate SIM card at a participating Vodafone store or dealer.

How do I transfer my existing Prepaid credit to my new Prepaid number?
You’re able to transfer credit including Prepaid Extras from one Vodafone Australia Prepaid SIM card to another only on disconnection of your old account.

The transfer of credits can be requested via Contact Us. Please include your mobile number and enquiry pin online before submitting the email.
How do I obtain my Prepaid account balance?
Prepaid customers can obtain their account balance and Prepaid Extras account balance via one of the following ways:
Send a free blank TXT to 1512 (if you are unable to send a blank TXT simply enter a space).
The Vodafone menu on your mobile.
Register and/or login at My Vodafone and then select My Account.
Call Lara (on 1555) and say “Account balance”.
Can I register my credit card for more than one Prepaid mobile?
A credit card can only be registered to one primary mobile number. You can however associate up to five different secondary numbers to the credit card through the primary account.
How to register your credit card against your other mobiles
Register and/or login at My Vodafone using the mobile number on the primary account Select My Account Select Add Mobiles
Please note:From 20/09/07 you can no longer recharge on any NEW international credit cards, excluding NZ.
If you have an existing international credit card being used, this will remain on our records and will continue to work.
If you do NOT have an international credit card being used for recharging your account, and attempt to use an international credit card, our systems will not accept this type of card.
Only valid Australian and New Zealand credit cards will be accepted from 19/09/07 when using for future recharges on your account with us. Note: this only applies to VISA and MasterCard.
Once you’ve associated a secondary number to the credit card, follow the below steps to recharge online:
Login at My Vodafone using the mobile number on the primary account
Select One Off Top Up
Select the mobile number you want to make changes to from the drop down menu.
Note: each secondary number can also be recharged by dialling 1555, free call from your mobile, via the Vodafone menu on your mobile or via Vodafone live!
Is there a recharge limit when I register my credit card with Prepaid?
When you first register your credit card by calling 1555, a recharge limit of $150 per day and $200 per month will apply.
If you require a higher amount, please visit a Vodafone Vodafone store with your credit card and other identification such as a drivers licence. Alternatively you can call 1555, free call from your mobile (you need to have spent a minimum of $160 a month over three consecutive months in order to increase your recharge limit via 1555).
If you have an existing international credit card being used, this will remain on our records and will continue to work.
If you do NOT have an international credit card being used for recharging your account, and attempt to use an international credit card, our systems will not accept this type of card.
Note: this only applies to American Express, VISA and MasterCard.
What do I do if advised my Prepaid recharge voucher is invalid?
Upon recharging if you’re advised that the recharge card/voucher is invalid, please mail the recharge card/voucher to Vodafone.
Include the following:
A letter advising your mobile number and a brief description advising the recharge card/voucher is invalid.
The invalid recharge card/voucher.
Original purchase receipt.

We also suggest that you keep a record of the following card details:
11 digit barcode/serial number
Value of the recharge card
Place of purchase
Date of purchase
Receipt number or photocopy of the purchase receipt.
