Why is there an unusual or unexpected charge on my current bill?

If you notice unusual or unexpected charges on your bill, this may be due to the following reasons:

1. If this is your first bill since connecting to Vodafone, all standard charges for new accounts are charged from the date of connection until the start of the next bill cycle, plus one month of access charged in advance. This monthly fee charged in advanced will cover the next billing period. On your second bill, there will only be one monthly access charge. This is for your next billing period and is paid in advance. If you change plans, part of the monthly access charge that you have paid in advance wil be credited on a pro-rata basis

2. If you're a Month to Month or Cap Contract customer, your selected minimum monthly spend is payable for each full monthly billing period in advance and is non-refundable. Additional charges are billed at the end of each monthly billing period in arrears which will include calls excluded from the capped plan and usage in excess of the Cap's included calls. The call listing of your invoice does not include GST so you will need to add 10% to the total costs of calls to get the full GST inclusive amount of calls made.

3. You've requested any of the following changes to your account on a date other than your billing date:

a. Changed your rate plan? Your bill will show the access charge for the new rate plan as a proportion of the standard monthly amount, based on actual days since the change occurred and the date the current bill was issued, plus one month of access charged in advance.

b. Disconnected your account while still in contract/commitment? Your final bill will include the standard monthly rate plan access charges multiplied by the number of months remaining on your Contract, plus any outstanding call charges.[NT1]

c. Disconnected your account while out of contract/commitment? Your final bill will show a proportion of charges and included calls, TXT etc based on the actual days from the date your last bill was issued until the date of disconnection, plus any outstanding call charges. Because you paid one month access in advance on your previous bill, your final bill will show a rebate of this charge excluding the actual days connected.

4. Ported your account to/from Vodafone? If you have ported your account to Vodafone and this is your first bill please refer to section 1 above. If you have ported your account from Vodafone to another mobile carrier, your final bill will show a proportion of charges and included calls, TXT etc based on the actual days from the date your last bill was issued until the date the port occurred. Because you paid one month access in advance on your previous bill, your final bill will show a rebate of this charge excluding the actual days connected.

5. You've requested to divide one mobile account (which had two or more mobile numbers) into separate accounts.

6. Have you cancelled your handset insurance? Your current bill will show the insurance charge as a proportion of the standard monthly amount, based on actual days covered by insurance in the billing period until the cancellation occurred.

7. Chargeable product. You may be viewing an amount for a service or product that has incurred a charge. For more information, view the guide to the call type codes.

As of 10th March 2009, Month to Month and Contract Customers (Personal and Business) incur charges for the following types of payment:[NT2]

Charges for the above payment methods will be applied on customers' next bill.
