If you intend to use your Vodafone Australia SIM card then you won't be required to unlock the device.
However if you intend to use a SIM in the device other than your Vodafone Australia SIM, you'll need to have the device unlocked.
If you are global roaming and require the unlock code, you can obtain this via the web You should receive the unlock code immediately.
