WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) works in a similar way to the Internet on a traditional desktop computer. The mobile device has browser software that connects to a WAP gateway and can read the WML (Wireless Mark-Up Language) data it receives over the GSM network.
Content or WAP applications offered by Vodafone and other WAP sites have to be prepared or created in the WML language (see above), therefore regular Internet sites created in HTML is not available on your WAP mobile phone.
A WAP site will have a special URL that points to their WML content eg: http://www.myvodafone.com.au/index.wml
