TXT messages sent to any network within Australia are each charged at a cost according to your plan. One TXT is equal to 160 characters once the message has been sent from your mobile.

This charge also applies when sending TXT from Australia to mobile phones of other networks including overseas.

TXT messages sent to a computer from your Vodafone mobile phone e.g. ICQ incurs a charge once the TXT message has been sent from your phone.

There is no charge for receiving TXT messages unless they are TXT Delivery Status Reports which are charged per report, or TXT Updates (information service) which cost to receive for a subscription and are charged for Once-off updates.

This price applies to all Vodafone customers. Certain plans may offer free TXT.

Premium TXT, send TXT messages to enter competitions and/or vote in polls, you will be charged for each of these TXT messages you send and/or receive at rates published on our website or as disclosed to you by third party competiton promoters.

TXT messages that are longer than 160 characters will be sent as multiple messages eg a 180 character message will be split into 2 TXT messages. Please note that this is handset dependant. See your handset manual for details on creating messages longer than 160 characters.

When sending to AT&T TDMA and Cingular TDMA connected mobiles in the USA, Canada or Caribbean, the sender in Australia is charged for 1 TXT message when a message of over 140 characters is split in two on the receiving end.
