Yes, TXT messages from overseas are received the same way as messages originating from Australia. Countries with Networks that have TXT messaging agreements with Vodafone Australia can send TXT messages to Vodafone Australia Prepaid and Contract customers. 1. Select the country from the drop down box.
2. Click on the Network name as listed below the map.
3. The information under "SMS (TXT) to Australia" advises whether or not the local Network has text message sending capabilities.
If the sender is using a compatible Network, but still cannot send TXT messages to your phone, please check the following;
- Are you able to receive TXT messages from Australia? If you can, the sender from overseas may need to check with their local network
- Is there signal strength on your mobile phone? Poor signal will not allow you to send or receive TXT messages
- Is the storage capacity for TXT messages full? When the maximum storage capacity on your phone/sim is reached, you will not be able to receive TXT messages. Simply delete stored messages to make room for new messages
Should you require further assistance, please ask the sender to escalate this through their network as Vodafone can not investigate issues with incoming TXT/calls.
